The first day of MFW has come to an end! Can’t believe it has already been a year since the last. Despite the country’s size and overall disappointing grasp of fashion, all of the island’s enthusiasts come together in this one week to show off their chosen ensembles, and it really is quite an exciting time.
Opening with DIZZ Group – a success story of its own kind – yesterday’s shows allowed us viewers to enjoy a variety of brands. Each female model boasted Karl Nash’s work – a bold blue eye, dramatically drawn on using evagarden products.
Golden point came first – the fun, flirty clothing that all Maltese could pair up with a day of sunbathing and prosecco. Liu Jo followed in bouts of pink and femininity.
Harmont & Blaine, Brooks Brothers and GUESS all appeared in the first part of the show. I was particularly drawn in by Max&Co. – Opening with a bright and floral-printed jumpsuit, the collection felt like an invite to summer. The fabrics moved beautifully.
The second part of DIZZ Group’s show consisted of Trussardi, Michael Kors, Paul & Shark, Pinko and Elisabetta Franchi.
Michael Kors’ collection mesmerised the audience in shades of blue, and pinko combined casual-chic with elements of sophistication and floor-length attire I’d happily wear.
Last, but certainly not least, came Elisabetta Franchi – DIZZ were wise to close their show with her attire. This was the show I looked forward to the most and it reached my every expectation. I’d find it hard to even pick something I wouldn’t purchase (if any of the items did not exceed my budget, that is.)
Here is the look I wore yesterday and some of my favourites from the show. Enjoy!
